ZonBalans service makes feeding power back into the congested grid possible after all!

"The grid is full" something we hear almost daily when it comes to solar panels or the energy transition. We have good news! Enexis makes it possible to deal with solar generated energy in a more efficient way, called ZonBalans. Covolt is happy to help!

What does ZonBalance entail?

In many areas, the power grid is at capacity. As a result, customers no longer have the capacity to feed electricity back into the grid via a
solar installation. There is a long waiting list for additional contracted capacity. ZonBalans makes it possible for customers to feed back a portion of the electricity they generate.

How does ZonBalance work?

ZonBalans works by avoiding the peaks on the power grid. By cleverly handling the quiet
moments on the power grid, feed-in is still possible. The amount depends on how much
the sun shines.

Is it not shining fully? Then you can feed energy back.
Is it very sunny? Then the grid is full and feeding energy back is not possible.
The amount of energy to be fed back is regulated automatically.
With ZonBalans you can still feed back some of your solar energy, which previously was not possible
. Per year, this is up to 70% of your unused generation. In addition, you may always generate
for your own use. It is also good to know that your place in the
waiting list will not change by using ZonBalans. Optimal advantage!

What do you need for ZonBalance?

To enable ZonBalans, you need a sun sensor and Energy Control Unit (ECU).
Based on the solar power, the custom installation controls the feed-in.
Thus, the solar installation with control ensures that more or
less is fed back to the grid at the right times.

With Covolt's ECU, we make it possible for you to participate in ZonBalans.
Through our advanced control with our own EMS, we can fully meet the
requirements set by Enexis! We are happy to tell you more about all the possibilities!
