Congestion and Capacity Services
Flex Trading Local focuses on services for the grid operator when local congestion occurs. Your battery is used to relieve the grid, and you receive compensation in return. It’s also possible that your grid operator has already asked you to become RTI-compliant, so that your PV system is shut down when there is an excess of power on the grid. Covolt can also handle the installation of the necessary hardware in such cases.
How it works:
- Covolt is certified as a Congestion Service Provider (CSP)
- In the event of grid congestion, the grid operator requests that power be curtailed or supplied
- Covolt receives these requests and automatically manages your battery
- You will receive compensation for your participation in congestion management

- CSC (Capacity Management Contract)
- RTI (Real-Time Interface)
