About Covolt

Smart energy deserves smart people.

Covolt is a fast-growing and innovative organization in the energy transition sector. We develop smart energy solutions that enable organizations to optimize their energy consumption and actively contribute to a more sustainable and flexible energy system.

At Covolt, data, technology, and process optimization are central to how we create value. We operate in a dynamic market where agility, scalability, and data-driven decision-making are key to success.

To strengthen our customer success team, we are looking for an Asset Performance Analyst who will make a consistent contribution to improving performance, efficiency, and decision-making.

About the Role of Asset Performance Analyst at Covolt

Tomorrow's achievements start with your insights today.

As an Asset Performance Analyst, you are responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and continuously improving commercial processes and data flows within the customer success team.

You will serve as an analytical sparring partner for Sales, Operations, and Management, translating complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that have a direct impact on commercial performance and operational effectiveness.

You will actively contribute to the further development of a data-driven and process-driven approach within the organization.

Example of a Situation

You uncover hidden value in energy data.

You analyze real-time energy data from multiple customer installations, including batteries and other flexibility assets. During your analysis, you notice that similar assets within the same market segment are managed differently: one battery operates at high efficiency and with optimal market utilization, while another is consistently used suboptimally and fails to realize its full value.

Instead of simply pointing this out, you take it a step further. You investigate the source of this discrepancy: Is it a configuration issue, a deviating control profile, or a lack of market input in the optimization? At the same time, you recognize that this is not just a technical optimization issue, but also a business opportunity.

You translate your findings into concrete insights for the customer success team: which customers are underperforming, what potential value is going untapped, and where optimization can immediately generate additional revenue. Based on this, you provide targeted analyses and recommendations to the sales team so they can engage with customers by presenting well-supported opportunities for improvement and concrete value propositions.

This allows you to combine data-driven analysis with a business-oriented eye for optimization opportunities, directly contributing to both customer performance and revenue growth.

What does your job actually entail?

You'll turn data into better performance in practice.

Process Optimization

  • Identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for structural improvement.
  • Initiate and implement improvement initiatives focused on scalability and performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with process standards, KPI structures, and work instructions.
  • Contribute to the professionalization of commercial operations.

Data Analysis & Performance Management

  • Structuring, analyzing, and interpreting commercial datasets from various sources and, of course, from our smart energy management systems
  • Translating data into high-quality commercial insights by analyzing, evaluating, and optimizing processes and data-driven management information, with the goal of systematically increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of both our services and those of our clients.
  • Developing and managing dashboards, reports, and performance tools.
  • Translating analyses into concrete, data-driven recommendations for management and sales teams.
  • Monitoring KPIs, commercial performance, and operational management information.

Systems & tooling

  • Improving data quality, governance, and standardized work processes within tooling.
  • Provide support for the implementation of new systems, automation, and digital solutions.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for data and tooling issues within sales.
  • Continuous improvement is in your DNA. You’re able to translate client case studies into concrete opportunities for improving systems and tooling, and clearly communicate these to the development team.

Stakeholder Management

  • Close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Management.
  • You translate business challenges into data-driven analyses and solutions. You are able to effectively communicate the resulting insights to the Development team for technical improvements and to the Operations team for process optimization and operational management.
  • Identifying commercial trends, risks, and opportunities based on data.
  • Supporting strategic decision-making with analytical insights.

This challenge is a good fit if you have the following qualities

  • Data is your starting point. You work effortlessly with large amounts of data, dashboards, and monitoring tools. You spot patterns, identify anomalies, and translate data into insights that directly contribute to better performance for our clients.
  • You go beyond simply identifying a problem. You want to understand what’s really going on. You analyze, investigate, and collaborate with colleagues and partners until the root cause is identified and a solution is implemented.
  • You take the initiative and demonstrate ownership. You don’t wait for someone to report a problem; instead, you actively monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and take action on your own when necessary.
  • You have a knack for making complex topics easy to understand. Whether you’re speaking with clients, partners, or colleagues, you communicate clearly and concisely. You can break down technical issues into understandable insights without losing any important details.
  • You're curious about technology. You quickly get the hang of new tools and systems and use them to work more efficiently.

In addition, you have:

  • You have a higher vocational education (HBO) or university (WO) level of work and thinking, preferably in the fields of Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Economics, or a university degree in a field such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Econometrics.
  • Proven experience with data analysis and/or process optimization.
  • Experience with CRM systems and BI or reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent communication skills at various levels within the organization.
  • A structured, proactive, and results-oriented work style.
  • Experience in a commercial, consulting, or data-driven environment is a plus.
