"Covolt makes sure I don't leave a penny behind, even if I feed back less."
Optimize your solar investments
When the supply of energy on the power grid, due to solar or wind production, among other things, exceeds demand, the grid can become overloaded. In some cases, negative prices even arise, forcing you to pay for the electricity generated. These negative prices will become more common. This is when Covolt's curtailment is a good solution.
Covolt controls your solar installation with a self-developed Energy Management System (EMS). Our smart software predicts your own consumption, the imbalance prices and takes into account your SDE subsidy and other costs. The EMS consists of smart software and a control box that we install at your location.
Benefits:
- Advanced algorithms accurately predict supply and demand
- Optimization on SDE subsidies and own consumption
- Dynamic power control within your grid connection
- Real-time monitoring via our app
- 4G connectivity with 99% uptime guarantee
- Also suitable for controlling your battery and charging stations
Covolt is also there for you for technical maintenance
"One point of contact for everything, which is nice!"
Wim already had his solar panels controlled by Covolt. When during the insurance inspection it became clear that there was quite a bit wrong, Covolt helped Wim get clarity.
"They listed everything that needed to be done to get the installation through inspection. It's nice to have one point of contact for everything related to my renewable energy installation." - Wim van Roekel, BKC Holland
Installing solar panels is one thing,
proper maintenance is another story
Covolt's Asset Management services ensure that your installation is always in optimal technical condition.
Below we explain why it is so important to maintain your solar panels properly.
Pollution
Solar panels can become contaminated by dust, pollen and bird droppings, among other things. This contamination reduces the amount of sunlight reaching the panels, which negatively affects energy output. Covolt's monitoring system can very accurately tell when a panel is dirty and therefore when it is important to clean the panels.
Overheating
Inverters can get too hot due to inadequate ventilation. This can be due to dust, sand or faulty fans. When an inverter gets too hot, it automatically shuts down in power ("derate mode"), which reduces performance and shortens life. Regular inspection and cleaning keep inverters working properly and lasting longer.
Fire hazard
Inspections can determine if cables have been damaged by pests or cable theft, for example. Affected cables can cause short circuits and even fires. With periodic visual inspections, such problems can be detected and remedied early, keeping your installations safe and the risk of fire under control.
Defects
Sometimes solar panels fail to work properly but continue to transmit energy, so the problem is not always visible in monitoring. An annual visual inspection helps identify defective panels and replace them immediately, keeping the system working safely and efficiently.
Insurance requirements
Insurers impose requirements on solar panel installations to reduce risks. During inspections, they check that all components, such as fire wraps on cables, still meet safety standards. This prevents discussion with the insurer and keeps the installation properly insured.
Solar Analytics
With Solar Analytics, losses in energy production can be accurately analyzed. This can determine if maintenance, such as cleaning, is needed. This helps improve performance and maximize system yield.
Want to know more?
Then download the brochure. We explain how you can avoid problems later, for example by feeding energy back into the grid, and how you can make money at times when electricity prices are low or even negative. You can also read how smart control, maintenance and energy storage contribute to an installation that really pays off.
You don't need any solar panels or battery yet - the brochure mainly helps you to be well prepared for what will soon be possible.
